Hello guys!
I just wanted to let you all know what has been happening lately. So last week we had a guy named Camp come and teach us about organic gardening. We learned that red worms are the best for turning compost into fertilizer. And we learned that you can use coffee grounds to add nitrogen into the soil.
We also visited a prison in Matamoros. The prison there was very different from U.S. prisons, there is a women's side and a men's side. However, the men seem to pretty much be able to do whatever they want when they want. For example, there was a man who had a box cutter and was making stuff out of chair legs. Another difference is that the families of the inmates bring food for the inmate, the prison doesn't feed them.
We also went to the new MTI construction site for the last time. It was a joy to be able to help them, we basically made sure that the foundation was buried, and that the ground was as smooth as possible.
We also celebrated one of our leaders birthday. We had a huge Elmo piñata after we cracked him open; we went to a place called peter piper's pizza. It is basically a chucky cheese. We spent a little while there then came back and slept.
Our host family seems to be opening up to us more, we built soccer goals with them and had an awesome time doing it, working with them, an learning what some tools are called. We also drew pictures with them once and ever since then, we have been getting pictures they drew when we arrive.
That is what I have been experiencing lately. I would love it if all you guys could keep everyone in prayer that we remember where we are and why we are here, and not forget the changes God has been making in our lives.
